We present an inventory management system that is utilized to automatically check the tools and equipment in industrial plants and warehouses. The system utilizes radio frequency identification (RFID), a cloud database (MySQL), an Android-based application program (app), and a PC-based computer program to construct a real-time raw material inventory system. RFID tags are attached to the tools and equipment and connected to a network via the Internet of Things (IoT). Experimental results demonstrate that the system reduces labor costs and human errors in an industrial plant.Corresponding author: Yin-Ting Cheng
