Ce-doped 20CsBr-20BaBr2-60ZnBr2 glasses were synthesized by the conventional melt quenching method, and their photoluminescence (PL) and scintillation properties were investigated. In the PL and scintillation spectra, all the Ce-doped glasses showed broad emissions due to the 5d–4f transitions of Ce3+ ions. Under 241Am α-rays, the light yield of 0.05% Ce-doped glass was 40 photons/5.5 MeV-α.
