Traditional measurement technologies cannot meet the construction requirements of superhigh-rise complex structures owing to the characteristics and difficulties of superhigh-rise construction projects. In this study, we develop new instrumentation and propose an automatic high-precision elevation transfer methodology for supertall buildings taking into consideration the characteristics and challenges of supertall building engineering and through a comprehensive review of construction measurement techniques for supertall buildings in China. Combined with several new technologies, such as precise Beidou global navigation satellite system (GNSS) measurement, Beidou GNSS positioning technology, an intelligent total station, and high-quality and high-precision measurement benchmarks, precise construction control points, and fast and high-precision monitoring points are obtained. The integration of Beidou GNSS technology into superhigh-rise building construction monitoring is a major innovation of precise engineering measurement and has broad application prospects.
