Scintillation Properties of Sr-admixed Ce-doped CaHfO3 Single Crystals [PDF]

Sr-admixed Ce:CaHfO3 single crystals were synthesized by the floating zone method, and their photoluminescence and scintillation properties were investigated. The 5d–4f transition of Ce3+ exhibited blue luminescence at around 430 nm with the fast decay time in the 20 ns range. The maximum quantum yield of Sr-admixed Ce:CaHfO3 was 57%. In scintillation, Sr-admixed Ce:CaHfO3 showed bright luminescence. The maximum light yield was 2880 photons/MeV with low afterglow.
