In this paper, we propose a simplified performance analysis for ultrasonic sensors, in which an open-loop design is compared with a close-loop controller area network (CAN) system. Using Arduino UNO microcontroller boards on Controller Area Network (CAN) System, the linearity and accuracy of HC-SR04 detecting modules are evaluated efficiently. Experimental results showed that the close-loop CAN system achieves faster response and higher accuracy under varying environmental conditions than the open-loop design. The method offers a practical solution for improving long-distance and wide-range ultrasonic measurements.
