A TiO2-based gas sensor fabricated from TiO2 thick films with the rutile structure was sensitive to CO and other reducing gases. The negative temperature coefficient behavior of the films was examined at various temperatures and different CO concentrations. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and XRD analysis were used to study the microstructure and the phases developed. At temperatures above 500℃, response times of less than 1 minute were characteristic of this sensor.
