0.01, 0.1 and 0.5% Mn-doped CaB2O4 (CBO) crystals were grown by the floating zone technique and investigated in terms of their structurally, optically, and thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) properties. Under an excitation of 405 nm, a broad emission peak due to the d-d transitions of Mn2+ was observed in all the Mn-doped CBO crystals. Regarding the TSL properties, TSL glow curves were observed with and without Cd filters after neutron irradiations. All the Mn-doped CBO crystals showed an increase in TSL intensity linearly proportional to neutron fluence in the range of 1.0 × 109–1.0 × 1011 neutrons/cm2.
